It is known for its all-American, casual clothing in high quality fabrics. He is the American designer who’s built up an impressive resume at Perry Ellis and Paco Rabanne. So it seems perfect that The Gap has hired Patrick Robinson to oversee the design for women’s and men’s clothing, accessories and underwear, starting with the pre-autumn collections in stores in July. According to Marka Hansen, President of The Gap for North America, ‘Patrick brings broad experience - from high-end fashion to mass market retail - demonstrating his versatility to interpret and create fresh, clean designs true to the Gap brand aesthetic. We believe his skills and experience with some of the most respected apparel labels in the world will be great assets to The Gap brand.’ Robinson, a graduate of the Parsons School of Design, was chosen as one of Vogue magazine’s 100 rising stars in 1996 and has been a member of the Council of Fashion Designers of America since 1994.

The house of Pucci is celebrating it’s sixtieth birthday by inviting 250 guests for a weekend of fun and frolics at its Palazzo in Florence. Pucci designer Matthew Williamson has invited a swathe of fashionistas and socialites to keep him company throughout the proceedings, which, if the brand’s heritage is anything to go by, will be a sumptuous affair with no expenses spared. Famous throughout the sixties as ‘the prince of prints’, Emilio Pucci initially made his name designing streamlined ski suits. Soon he was catering for the jetset - notably Elizabeth Taylor - with his flashy, swirling, brightly-coloured prints . He died in 1992, and Matthew Williamson now is principal designer for the brand.

With a design philosophy inspired by the romanticism of vintage textiles, Lisa Ho has been at the forefront of the Australian Fashion Industry for the past 23 years.
Like many of Australia’s fashion designers, fresh out of college in 1982, Lisa Ho started her career at the Paddington markets with her designs that quickly brought her retail and media attention and began the Lisa Ho brand.
The Lisa Ho brand has continued to build into one of the most recognised brands in Australia and has a strong celebrity following with signature pieces being worn by Delta Goodrem, Sarah Wynter, Elle Macpherson, Sarah Michelle Geller, Olivia Newton John and Jennifer Lopez.
From Elle Macpherson at the David Frost Summer party in London to “the pink dress” for Delta Goodrem at the Australian Aria Awards, Sarah Wynter in Lisa Ho at The Emmy Awards in Los Angeles, and Jennifer Lopez choosing to wear Lisa Ho during her Australian promotional tour.
Her international reputation, was first recognized during the Sydney 2000 Opening Ceremony, which featured a special Lisa Ho designed segment celebrating her role in Australian fashion. Lisa was also asked to design the gown worn by Oliva Newton John for her performance to welcome the Olympic athletes.
Lisa travels widely, quietly watching the way people go about their lives and the changes in the world they’re moving in. And it’s always done through a designer’s eye. “I think if you’re a designer you look at all forms of design – art, television, music - everything influences you.”
Today Lisa Ho has culminated in a national signature store base of 10, an exclusive department store arrangement with David Jones and representation in over 250 boutiques both local and internationally.
