Carrie-UnderwoodCarrie Underwood married NHL player Mike Fisher at a resort in Georgia, according to Underwood’s publicist, Jessie Schmidt. Underwood (27) and Fisher (30) got married at the Reynolds Plantation resort in Greensboro, Ga.

The two sweethearts tied their knots before 250 friends and family and it the ceremony cost them about $500,000. Among the VIP guests there was Paula Abdul, Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Faith Hill. Carrie, famous after winning the fourth season of “American Idol”, wore a Chantilly lace dress designed by Monique Lhuillier.

Mike Fisher, who plays for the Ottawa Senators, and Carrie Underwood dated secretly for about a year before Mike taking the initiative and proposing to Carrie on December 20, 2009. And after the country-pop idol won the Video of the Year at the CMT Awards she told the press that o matter what happens, she’s a winner having the biggest prize at her side: Mike Fisher.
