The house of Pucci is celebrating it’s sixtieth birthday by inviting 250 guests for a weekend of fun and frolics at its Palazzo in Florence. Pucci designer Matthew Williamson has invited a swathe of fashionistas and socialites to keep him company throughout the proceedings, which, if the brand’s heritage is anything to go by, will be a sumptuous affair with no expenses spared. Famous throughout the sixties as ‘the prince of prints’, Emilio Pucci initially made his name designing streamlined ski suits. Soon he was catering for the jetset - notably Elizabeth Taylor - with his flashy, swirling, brightly-coloured prints . He died in 1992, and Matthew Williamson now is principal designer for the brand.
